Years and paths...
In recent years, in our country, special attention has been paid to the development of the field of road construction, bringing roads to the level of international requirements. The construction of modern roads, overpasses, bridges, underground and surface roads for pedestrians by the highwaymen brings people closer together and ensures the safety of movement.
The way of the word is the work of the word
There are 3 thousand 965 kilometers of general roads, of which 400 kilometers are international, 1 thousand 241 kilometers of state and 2 thousand 324 kilometers of local roads, systematic work is being carried out in this regard. In particular, during the past years, the Tashkent - Andijan - Osh, Tashkent - Samarkand - Bukhara, Tashkent - Chimyon - Chorvok roads were reconstructed and transferred to the first category. The Tashkent - Chimyon - Charvok road was completely repaired at the cost of 2 billion 924 million soums, and the 10-kilometer section of the Parkent - Zarkent - Sokhok highway cost more than 1 billion 65 million soums. In this process, the regional leaders such as "Caterpiller", "Wirtgen", "Jibherr", "Hamm", "Fogele", "ABG", "Daynapak", "Hitachi", "Komatsu", "Kato", "Nissan" used the modern techniques and equipment of the companies.
"I go over the pass and go to the valley often," says Fazliddin Shokirov from Angren. - At first, it was difficult to climb the steep mountain roads, at least the unevenness of the roads was nerve-wracking and a pain for the car. "Kamchik" and "Rezak" tunnels were built at the same time. Now we don't waste time and nerves on the road.
According to information, during the years of independence, more than 235 kilometers of roads were constructed and reconstructed in the territory of the region. Also, 10 overpasses with a total length of more than 1,200 meters, 44 bridges with a length of about 10,600 meters were built and reconstructed.
There are more than 10,300 kilometers of domestic roads in the region. In order to ensure the safety of transport and create comfortable conditions for the population, the roads that have become unusable in the villages are being gradually reconstructed and turned into modern roads with stone-gravel, asphalt-concrete, cement-concrete and black pavement. In particular, more than 120 kilometers of roads were repaired last year alone. The President's decision "On measures to implement the regional highway development program in 2017-2018" serves as an important program in this regard.
- This decision envisages the further improvement of the road transport infrastructure by bringing the condition of road surfaces of the regional highways to the required level and improving their operational features, - said Jahangir Bekmirzayev, the head of the Regional General Administration of Regional Highways. - This is aimed at creating favorable conditions, especially in rural areas, as well as prospective development of sectors and regions of our country's economy. According to the program, it is planned to repair 516 kilometers of roads and streets in the region in 2017-2018.
New roads are new opportunities and huge cost savings
In recent years, a number of road construction projects have been implemented in order to make the distance between drivers and passengers closer, to ensure the cleanliness of the capital's air, and to prevent traffic jams on city streets. In particular, in 2009-2017, the "Tashkent ring road" was established by the repair and maintenance company specializing in the maintenance of the Tashkent bridge industry. The opening of 63 km of the highway "Tashkent public road", that is, from the back of the 5th district of Sergeli district to the Bektemir-Ghazalkent-Chorvok highway, creates a number of conveniences for residents, especially drivers. In particular, the creation of modern urban planning infrastructure along the road serves the development of industry, and is also important as a bridge connecting the southeastern region of the region with the northwestern part outside the city.
"I go to Otchopar twice a week," says Umid Normatov, a resident of Nurafshan. - With the construction of the "Tashkent ring road", the time we spend on the road has been reduced by half an hour. It may seem insignificant, but the fuel is also saved up to two liters.
In fact, almost 22 kilometers of roads are covered with asphalt-concrete mixture, and a 26-meter wide, smooth road with three lanes on each side is built, which allows passengers to save time and money.
According to the data, at the moment, an average of 20,000 cars and 40,000 passengers are moving on this road per day. According to simple arithmetic calculations, it is clear that passengers save 20 thousand hours a day, in other words, 833 days or 2 years and 3 months. This is about 68 years saved in one month.
A similar situation can be observed in terms of fuel economy. In particular, taking into account an average of 20,000 cars per day and an average fuel saving of up to 2 liters, it becomes clear that an average of 40,000 liters of fuel is saved per day. If we calculate this on the example of the cheapest type of fuel - methane gas, it becomes clear that 68 million soums worth of fuel is saved per day. This means that 188,200,000,000 soums spent on the project will be fully repaid within 8 years due to fuel savings alone.
As a result of the implementation of this project, which includes about 200 water transfer facilities, a bridge over the Chirchik river, an overpass over one railway and four small bridges, many toxic gases are prevented from being released into the atmosphere from cars on the capital's roads. Also, on the basis of model projects along this road, starting from the Sergeli district of the capital and connecting Zangiota, Yangiyol, Orta Chirchik, Kuyi Chirchik and Upper Chirchik districts of the Tashkent region, the ground has been created for the construction of modern residential complexes, production facilities and household service facilities.
When talking about the construction of a new road and its importance, it is necessary to mention the construction of the Gulistan-Ohangaron road, which is part of the "Uzbek National Highway". This 55-kilometer road is an important point of the Great Silk Road - a bridge connecting the valley and Ohangaron oasis with other regions of our country, especially because it reduces the distance between the regions to 75 kilometers compared to the previous one.
Passenger safety is the highest priority
In addition to construction of new roads, reconstruction of existing ones, construction of overpasses and bridges in the region, special attention is paid to construction of underground and surface roads for pedestrians in order to ensure safe movement of the population. For example, in 2008-2013, only one underground road was built for pedestrians, and in the last 5 years, 4 such modern roads were commissioned. This, in turn, creates a basis for safe movement of cars and pedestrians.
In particular, large-scale works have been carried out on the repair and expansion of roads leading to historical sites and holy places in the region, which are always crowded with pilgrims and tourists, as well as the construction of underground passages and parking lots.
An example from Zangiota historical-architectural complex. The street in front of this complex, which was always crowded with pilgrims and tourists, was narrow and always crowded. The lack of an underground passage made it difficult for pilgrims rushing to this side of the street, including cars.
- I often visit Zangiota, - says Abdurasul Rahmatov from Samarkand. - Previously, the chaotic movement of pedestrians and vehicles on the busy road in front of the building caused various inconveniences. It's a completely different scene on my next trip. The shrine building, familiar to me, the low mud houses along the road have acquired a modern look. The construction of the underground road was a very good thing. We used to walk through the narrow and congested street with a fistful of hearts.
In fact, in front of the monument, a 6-meter-wide, 48-meter-long underground passage for pedestrians with a total cost of 11 billion 266 million soums, as well as 2 parking lots with a capacity of more than 1000 cars, was commissioned.
The Old Tashkent road passing by the shrine was completely renovated. The 3-lane road was expanded to a 4-lane road with a width of 16 meters, and a 6-lane road with a width of 23 meters in front of the shrine. Barriers were installed to ensure the safety of vehicles moving in the opposite direction. Roadside lighting has also been updated. Currently, this road fully meets the requirements of the 1st category road.
Wide, flat and smooth roads, modern underground passages serve to reduce the number of unpleasant incidents related to road traffic, while reducing the distance and burden of passengers, preventing excessive time loss.
"Traffic accidents decreased by 28.4 percent in eight months of this year compared to the same period of last year," says Ulugbek Nurmuhamedov, head of the regional IIB department. - Traffic accidents involving pedestrians decreased by 21.1%, and in particular, those involving children decreased by 34.8%. Of course, this is the result of the reforms being implemented in our country to bring roads up to international standards and ensure road safety.
"The pain of the road is the pain of the grave," our ancestors said. Today, this phrase is logically outdated. As a result of the road construction works, the roads are not a pain, but a cultural pleasure for the passengers.
In short, the huge construction works carried out in the field of road construction of our country help to drastically reduce road-related expenses of drivers, make the distance of passengers closer, and especially ensure their safe movement, prevent the release of toxic gases into the atmosphere, and consequently, protect the purity of nature.
