Road section of 0—75 km along the Pop-Namangan highway will be put under reconstruction.
As part of this project implementation, on January 22, 2024, the Ministry of Transport and the CITIC CONSTRUCTION CO., LTD company (People's Republic of China) signed a memorandum of understanding on the reconstruction of the highway, as a result of which:
- the technical level of the road will be transferred from category II to category Ib;
- load capacity will be increased from 10 tons to 13 tons;
- the traffic capacity of vehicles on the highway will be increased from 21,000 to 40,000 on average per day;
- the width of the roadbed will be expanded to 38 meters in residential areas, to 25 meters outside residential areas;
- 14 existing bridges along the road will be reconstructed;
- the road will be converted from a 2-lane asphalt concrete pavement to a 4-lane cement concrete pavement.
We remind that this road section of 0-75 km, reconstructed at the initiative of the Committee for Roads, is the main road connecting the city of Tashkent with the center of the Namangan region.
